Doug Basler has been the teaching elder at First Presbyterian Church of Aberdeen since 2009. He and his wife, Katie, have three children – Addison, Jackson and Isaac. He grew up north of Chicago and cheers for the Cubs, the Bulls, the Bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He is an avid reader, loves to hike, fish, and plays (or attempts to play) most sports. He is constantly experimenting to find the perfect, home-made pizza recipe.
Before coming to Aberdeen, Doug pastored a church in Montana, just outside of Yellowstone National Park, graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and worked for Voice of Calvary Ministries in Jackson, Mississippi. He has a passion for getting people passionate about the Bible and to see people not only learn about Jesus but to commit every aspect of their lives to Jesus.
